The Orlando Zapata Tamayo National Civic Resistance and Civil Disobedience Front has denounced the brutal beating carried out on the Cuban opposition members Sarah Marta Fonseca Quevedo, her husband Julio Ignacio Leon Perez, and their eldest son Julio Leon Fonseca by government agents. The family of dissidents was not only savagely beat and mistreated, but they have also been disappeared. To this moment, no one knows where they are located.
Jorge Luis Garcia Perez “Antunez”, member of the National Front, has published a calling made by the organization which condemns the violent and despicable crimes committed against this family, and has also published a very clear and assertive message aimed at the government: “The Front…has set a 72 hour deadline for the dictatorship to return these dissidents to their homes. If this is not met, then we will openly invite all members and organizations allied with the Front, and all of those who make up the Assembly of the Resistance in the exterior, to carry out peaceful protests which would force the regime to immediately release this respected fighter for democracy in our country”.
The entire declaration penned by Antunez can be read, in Spanish, on his blog, “Ni me Callo, Ni me Voy” (English translation coming soon).
