Just a few minutes ago, Guillermo Farinas declared though his Twitter account that the dissident Jorge Luis Artiles Montiel decided to cease his Hunger and Thirst Strike.

Minutes after, Marti News reported that Farinas declared himself on hunger strike once again. As we know, the dissident carried out an extensive hunger strike last year which took a heavy toll on his health. Farinas was demanding that the government release the political prisoner of conscience from the group of the 75, especially those who were most sick. This time, he is turning to his 24th hunger strike to demand that there be an independent investigation into the death of Juan Wilfredo Soto Garcia who was beat merciless by agents of the political police.
