Luis Felipe Rojas detained… again (Saturday, October 2nd)

A few days ago, I had the immense honor to interview Luis Felipe Rojas Rosabal. Just today, I was able to communicate with him via telephone. The journalist and dissident explained to me that on this past Saturday, October 2nd, he and 19 other dissidents were detained for various hours in the eastern city of Baracoa while they were peacefully protesting. According to Rojas, the participants of this protest were detained for 6 to 8 hours. In his own case, he spent the entire 8 hours detained. He was also able to tell me that, just like Yoani and other bloggers in Havana, his Twitter account was not functioning. The reasons for such technological complications have not yet been confirmed.

In the interview that he granted us on this blog, Luis states that although he sometimes feels some fear, he has never been a coward. And anyone can confirm this statement as soon as they get to hear the bravery in his voice.

For more information on Luis, his blog can be read here.
